Quote for today – April 1st, 2013

“Life…has meaning or it doesn’t. We can’t really say that a person’s life has meaning, but that a cat’s or even an insect’s life is meaningless.…[W]e live in either an accidentally formed universe or a meaningfully created one. We can’t scientifically prove either theory, but intuitively we do know the truth. And intuitively we know enough to trust our impulses.”

(‘The God of Jane’, Jane Roberts, p.g. 18, Moment Point Press, 2000. [Emphasis is my own])

      1. You’re kidding? Well, i do remember one of the first things i read in one edition was “These words will come to those who’re ready for them. To everyone else they (and I) will be a mystery”… or something like that. I ended up reading about 6 of the books, maybe more. It was years ago now, another life.

  1. There is that, the bit about being ready to entertain such notions is a biggie. The few people I know who have come across the Seth books simply haven’t got their heads around it. I’ve read them all, pretty much. Still one of my top reads. I began reading Seth years ago when I was in my early twenties, and it was an epiphany for me because at last there was someone else out in the in the fabric of existence who understood what the hell I was going on about. Not met many others since though! So much for creating your own reality huh.

    1. I don’t look at it as much as “creating reality,” rather increasing the likelihood of that reality. Make a choice, any choice, and an infinity of outcomes gets halved. Make a second choice and that number is halved again… repeat until desire outcome achieved 😉 The problem, of course, is getting distracted and forgetting just where the hell you were going 🙂

  2. Happens to me all the time, forgetting where the hell I’m going that is. When you put in such a long-winded way, why would anyone want to bother creating their own reality?! 😉 I’m too impatient to be patient. If I’m creating my own reality I darn well want to see the results now! See that’s the funny thing though, as we are all so used to creating all of this, going on that premiss, then how would you know that you’re not doing it…?
